Uses - Fir Balsam essential oil, Abies balsamea ,
is often used to combat the symptoms of colds - including sore muscles and chest congestion.
Fir balsam has a crisp, clean Christmas tree aroma that is uplifting, warming and calming.
Reported to be an anodyne, antiseptic, diaphoretic, diuretic, masticatory, and vulnerary, fir balsam is a folk remedy for bronchitis, burns, cancer, catarrh, cold, consumption, cough, dysentery, earache, gleet, gonorrhea, heart ailments, leucorrhea, paralysis, rheumatism, scurvy, sores, ulcers, urogenital ailments, warts, and wounds.
